The Richmond Fruit Tree Sharing Project connects volunteers with growing and harvesting fruit and vegetables – for our neighbours in need.
Our three major activities are growing food at the Sharing Farm, picking fruit, and gleaning second harvests from farmers’ fields.
The Sharing Farm project is located at two sites: South end of Gilbert Road beside the City Tree Nursery, and in the Terra Nova Rural Park – at the end of Westminster Highway, near the West Dyke.
The Terra Nova Sharing Farm was developed in phases and is now the project’s permanent home.
In seven years, the Richmond Fruit Tree Project has harvested over 110,000 pounds of fruit and vegetables to give to those living with poverty.
